Loire wine

The length of the Loire is 1012 kilometers, which makes it the longest river of France. The majority of wine production is white wine from the Chenin blanc, Sauvignon blanc and Melon de Bourgogne grapes. There are also red wines made from Cabernet franc (especially around the Chinon region). Besides still wines, also rosé, sparkling and dessert wines are produced in the Loire valley.

Moulin Touchais 1928 is a very special wine made of Chenin Blanc. This 80 year-old-wine is still really vital and has plenty of life. The combination of its acidity and its sweetness makes it no wonder it can be kept so long: the wine has an amazing track record for longevity and can last 50 to 100 years in the great vintages. The Moulin Touchais is one of the most extraordinary wines from the Coteaux du Layon. Bouchard Pere et Fils - Pouilly Fuisse 1964 is also a fine white wine produced in the Loire valley. This wine is produced exclusively from Chardonnay grapes grown in the communes of Chaintre, Fuisse, Solutre-Pouilly and Vergisoson. This typical Pouilly-Fuisse wine is full-bodied, ripe and relatively elegant.
